The Shire of Esperance, is located on Western Australia's southeast coast, about 725km from Perth by road. Esperance would have to boast the cleanest, whitest sand in Australia. It is just so fine and dry, that you see no evidence of even handling it. That, and the tremendous climate in these parts, added to the coastal beauty along Great Ocean Drive, would make it one of the nicest stretches of coastline to be seen. From the hilltop lookout just on the edge of this large town, the road takes you about 11kms along a series of bays and further lookout vantage spots, before looping you back to town via the Pink Lake area. - Gary |
